As citizens, we have been conditioned to believe that we are powerless against institutions, governments, and corporations. There is power in numbers. The interests of the many outweigh those of the individual.

This form of communication, they speculated, was all that was necessary to claim the territory for the leader of their group, the human who wears a symbolic circle of purified metal and semi-transparent rocks on its head.

What is resilience? Through our observations of natural, living systems, humans have been learning about the evolutionary adaptations of community, collaboration, and cooperation.

Re:design

The tradition of learning through play (from Froebel through Dewey) could harness play for education, because it recognised both the element of learning which is always present in play, and saw education not as a training process, but as the nurturing of the child’s own capacities.

Shift

Recognizing that we are experiencing a shift, how might we collaborate to create an app to daily monitor the shift? Would it be possible to quantify and map the shift in values, perceptions, states of mind, and relationships?

Violation

(Content warning: sexual assault and violence.) There is no viable path forward together. If there is any hope for the relationship, the man would need a complete change of heart: admission of a problem, remorse, contrition, a commitment to therapy and behavioural change.

Infinity

Living systems seem to manifest a different form of reality that describes a trajectory from simple organic lifeforms to more complex forms with greater capacities for self-consciousness, self-awareness, and self-organization.

Pandora’s Box

As if money had real value, as if laws were universal ethical principles, as if humans could actually own land and resources as property, and as if the leaders of corporations and governments had any real authority beyond the ability to direct and control the narrative.

World Building

The act of visioning and dreaming, and imagining, I think, is something that’s very important in terms of world building and in terms of building alternative structures that address some of the social, cultural, and economic and political issues that we’re facing.

A trimtab is a point in a system where the minimum effort causes the maximum effect. Trimtab people and projects solve multiple challenges at once and dissolve the underlying circumstances that lead to those challenges, by taking into account a whole systems approach.

Synchronicity

Time, energy, and matter must exist in a constant flow that provides a medium for transformation. Evolution is change. Humans are witnesses to change and we are agents of change.

The film reframed my relationship to my own body as a sort of god-like responsibility to the maintenance of a body that is composed of cells and microorganisms that depend on my thoughts, motivations, and behaviours for the health and well-being of the whole. I am a microcosm of the symbiotic Earth.

Living Systems

To manifest the evolutionary benefits of the living systems that have created our species, we must remember where we came from and how we arrived at this stage in our growth and development.

Fragile

Humans are awakening to the reality that there is more to this life than the game of survival. If we can transcend fear, we have the incredible opportunity to realize love.
